How Much Grain Fits in a Big Bag
Capacity depends on the bulk density of the crop. The table shows the actual grain weight in a standard ~1 m³ big bag and the recommended size per crop:

Why Grain Needs a Liner
Grain is hygroscopic: temperature swings create condensation inside the container, and 14.5–15.5% moisture is already enough for mold and self-heating. A 90–120 µm polyethylene liner creates a moisture barrier and allows grain to be stored in big bags for 6–12 months without losing grade.
For seed material use only new big bags with a liner: residues and fungal spores in used containers can ruin the germination of an entire batch.
Storing and Shipping Grain in Big Bags
Filled big bags are stacked 2–3 tiers high on a level surface or pallets. For outdoor storage choose a model with a filling skirt and UV-stabilized fabric. A standard 20-tonne truck takes about 20 one-tonne big bags in two rows; discharge into a hopper goes through the bottom spout without cutting the bag.
