Big bags with polyethylene liner — airtight cargo protection

Polyethylene liner inside a big bag — airtight packaging by UKRBAGPACK

A big bag with a liner is a flexible container with a 90–120 µm polyethylene bag inside: the fabric carries up to 1500 kg while the film blocks moisture and keeps fine fractions from sifting through the weave. It is the solution for hygroscopic, dusty and food cargo — sugar, salt, flour, fertilizers, starch.

Which cargo needs a liner

Woven polypropylene carries weight but lets water vapour and the finest particles through. A liner solves both problems:

CargoProblem without a linerWhat the liner provides
Sugar, saltAbsorb moisture, cake into a monolithMoisture barrier — cargo stays free-flowing
Flour, starchDust through the fabric, hygiene requirementsAirtightness and food contact
Mineral fertilizersHygroscopic, form lumpsGranules keep their structure
Grain, seedsCondensation, mould, self-heating6–12 months of storage without grade loss
Chemical raw materialsContamination from fabric and environmentClean product with no fabric contact

Sewn-in or loose liner

A sewn-in liner is fixed in the container's seams: it does not shift or roll up during fast filling — best for regular shipments on production lines. A loose liner is cheaper and is replaced between cycles: the SF 6:1 bag itself runs 2–3 trips while the cargo only ever touches fresh film.

The standard thickness is 90 µm; for sharp fractions, vacuum packing or long storage we recommend 120 µm. For food products we use film approved for food contact.

Liner vs laminated fabric

Lamination is a thin polypropylene coating on the fabric itself: it holds back dust and splashes but is not an airtight barrier and will not save hygroscopic cargo in long-term storage. A liner is a full moisture- and dust-proof vessel inside the bag. For the most demanding cargo (long-stored fertilizers, sea freight) we combine both.

Price and ordering

A big bag with a liner costs from UAH 200/pc depending on size, film thickness and attachment type. We produce both bags for your cargo and stand-alone liners of any size if you already have containers. Minimum order — 50 pcs; free delivery for orders over 5,000 pcs.

FAQ

Why is a liner better than laminated fabric?

Lamination holds back dust and splashes but lets water vapour through. A 90–120 µm liner is an airtight barrier: hygroscopic cargo (sugar, salt, fertilizers) keeps for months without caking. For extreme conditions the two are combined.

Can I buy liners separately, without big bags?

Yes, we produce polyethylene liners of any size as a stand-alone item — see the Polyethylene liners page in the catalog. They also fit containers from other manufacturers.

What liner thickness do I need?

The 90 µm standard covers most tasks. Choose 120 µm for sharp and abrasive fractions, storage over six months and transport with repeated handling.

Are big bags with liners suitable for food products?

Yes. For food cargo we use new big bags and film approved for food contact. Production is certified to ISO 21898.
